Monday, May 19th, at 7:00 pm: The Teen Department at the Farmington Community Library will hold its annual Awards Ceremony for the winners of the Teen Creative Writing Contest, at the library, 32737 W 12 Mile Rd.

Wednesday, May 21st, at 1:00 pm: Jazz: An American Art Form.
Cathy Feldman-Duncan, flutist, will perform jazz standards on flute, alto flute, and piccolo, accompanied by her husband, Alex Duncan, pianist, guitarist, and accordionist. At the Smith Theatre at Oakland Community College, Orchard Ridge.

Wednesday, May 21st, at 7:00 pm: Participate in the Michigan Humanities Council‘s Great Michigan Read and meet Steve Luxenberg, author of Annie’s Ghosts, part memoir, part detective story and part history, set against the backdrop of Detroit in the 1920’s , ’30s and ’40s. Discover the unexpected journey that led to the discovery of an untold family history, lost relatives, and Michigan’s asylums. At the Holocaust Memorial Center, 28123 Orchard Lake Road.

Thursday, May 22nd, at 5:30 pm: 19th Annual Great Lakes Tasting at Oakland Community College.

Now through June 2nd: Artist Clinton Snider’s works in oil are on exhibit in the Farmington Hills City Gallery at the Costick Center, 28600 11 Mile Road. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
