Creative Puppet Making for Kids with Leila Mullison
August 21st from 9 am -11 am at KickstART Gallery & Shop
Cost $10 per person
Gather ‘round for a morning of crafting and laughing! This class is all about making characters and experimenting with storytelling. Artist and animator Leila Mullison will guide students through the puppet making process. We’ll explore the steps for making a character including gathering inspiration from the materials and selecting the form of the puppet. This workshop is all about trying new things and making something new!
Students are encouraged to gather their own materials ahead of time… whatever inspires! Puppets will be made from a combination of recycled materials that students bring and those provided by the gallery, so start collecting early! Suggested materials for younger students include popsicle sticks, paper bags, and socks. Suggested materials for more experienced crafters include paper towel rolls and string or yarn. Students are also welcome to bring decorative materials like craft paper, sticky notes and such, but materials will also be available at the gallery.
