Farmington and Farmington Hills is home to many talented musicians, writers, craftspeople, and artists. Each week we will examine their work, process and creations. We are starting with Detroit Cargo, makers of fine leather goods for cyclists. Their workshop is located in Farmington and owned by Farmington Residents, Marc and Jeanie Bay.
(Note: this is the first of a new series of posts coordinated by Grow Farmington founder Vera Lucksted that will appear on Thursdays.)
Announcing the Farmington Fun Ride
A gathering of bicyclists will tour Farmington, exploring some back roads and short cuts that are only accessible by bike or foot. This will be a relaxed ride with modest hill climbing.
Kids are welcome. We expect it to take about 2 hours with a stop midway for lemonade.
The ride is sponsored by Detroit Cargo (with the Farmington Bicycle Coalition), who are celebrating the opening of their sewing studio. Detroit Cargo manufactures bicycle accessories and personal leather goods right here in Farmington. Start time is 6:30 with cake refreshments and a tour of the sewing studio. The ride starts at 7:00pm.
The ride start & finishes at 32580 Grand River Rd. Call 248-514-7525 for more information.
