Monday, July 28th, at 7:00 pm: Get Downtown Monday Night, a performance by the Farmington Community Band, in Riley Park.

Drunken Botanist coverTuesday, July 29th, at 7:00 pm: Amy Stewart, author of The Drunken Botanist: The Plants That Create the World’s Great Drinks, presents (via Skype for a webcast event) an exploration of the dizzying array of plants that humans have, through ingenuity, inspiration, and sheer desperation, contrived to transform into alcohol. From the sugar cane that gives us Caribbean rum, to the juniper berries that flavor gin, to the odd and obscure fruits that flavor Italian liqueurs, Amy Stewart takes a most intoxicating perspective on the leaves, bark, seeds, roots, flowers, and fruit imbibed around the world, with a compelling mixture of history, science, literature and humor. At the Farmington Community Library on 12 Mile.

Thursday, July 31st, at 7:00 pm: The summer concert series at Heritage Park (24915 Farmington Road) continues with the Farmington Community Big Band.

Thursday, July 31st, at 7:30 pm: Swing Farmington takes over the Pavilion in downtown Farmington.

Friday, August 1st, at 7:00 pm: Rhythmz in Riley Park summer outdoor 6 Finger Leftyconcert series with 6 Finger Lefty. Backgrounds in jazz, classic rock, folk, pop, and Irish music have not kept these musicians from finding a common ground. Rather the diversity has helped breathe fresh life into the original songs the band continues to crank out and allows a slightly different feel in cover songs. Due to construction in Riley Park the concert will be held at the gazebo in front of Farmington Place on Grand River Ave.

Saturday, August 2nd, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm: Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market, at the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion in George F. Riley Park.

Saturday, August 2nd, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm: Farmington Garden Club presents the Biennial Garden Walk, starting at the Warner Mansion Museum (33805 Grand River Avenue).

Raiders of the Lost ArkSaturday, August 2nd, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Sunday, August 3rd, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm: The Second Annual Stardust Holistic Festival at the Village Mall in downtown Farmington.

Saturday, August 2nd. at 9:15 pm: kickstART farmington and the Greater Farmington Film Festival, in partnership with the Farmington Civic Theater presents a FREE outdoor screening of the classic film Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring Harrison Ford. In Shiawassee Park.
