“The Mitten’s Surface”, an exhibition at the KickstART Gallery, is an exploration of the diverse and captivating world of printmaking in the lower peninsula of Michigan. This exhibition, curated by artist Ernest Carl Fackler, showcases the rich imagery, varied techniques, and boundless creativity of Michigan Printmakers. From traditional methods like etching and woodcut to popular modern techniques such as screen printing, linocut, and risographs, this exhibition highlights the versatility and enduring appeal of printmaking as a fine art form.

The exhibition runs from January 8th through February 22nd with an opening reception at KickstART on Friday, January 10th, from 5-8 pm.

The Mitten’s Surface includes twenty-six artists (Michigan was our nation’s 26th state) and forty-four artworks (the printmakers all reside below the 44th parallel in Michigan).
